  Holiday Mass of Remembrance

Saturday Evening

December 7, 2024 at 7:00 P.M.

Our Lady of Mount Virgin R.C. Church

Frederick Street & MacArthur Avenue

Garfield, New Jersey

In keeping with the holiday tradition of sponsoring a community Mass of Remembrance, Saturday evening, December 7, 2019, has been set aside to honor the memory of all the deceased of our Garfield community, surrounding towns, victims of Hurricane Sandy, victims of 9-11, our soldiers fighting for our protection, and the victims of all natural disasters. Rosemarie and Louis Aloia and Andrea Gilkes, of the Aloia Funeral Home, wish to extend an invitation to the community to attend this Mass of Remembrance at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Virgin R.C. Church, Frederick Street and Mac Arthur Avenues, Garfield.

A candle will be lighted by the families of the deceased at the beginning of the service and will burn during the mass. The names of all those remembered will be read and the families will then have an opportunity to take the candle home with them to keep as a remembrance of this significant evening. All are invited. Many hundreds of people have attended this mass of remembrance during the past 27 years and have found it to be a healing experience. The liturgy of the mass reflects the significance of a loss, as well as the music, provided by Rosemarie Aloia

If you would like to have your loved one's name placed on the honor roll and read during the course of the mass, please contact Andrea Gilkes at the Aloia Funeral Home, 973-340-7077, or email aloia@aloiafuneral.com with the information before November 25th. Rosemarie, Lou and Andrea hope that you will come to share in this healing and comforting event. As a reminder, the mass will take place on Saturday evening, December  7, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount. Virgin R.C. Church.
