MASTRANGELO, Carl "Cheerie", age 75, of San Marcos, Texas, died on November 4, 2013 after fighting his battle to cancer. He was born on February 2, 1938 in Garfield, NJ to the late Crocifissa Mary and Salvatore Mastrangelo. When he was a young boy, he was an alter server at Our Lady Of Mount Virgin Church and later set the bowling pins in the church bowling alley in the school basement. He was an amazing bowler and was loved by all who knew him. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 55 years, Barbara, two daughters: Michele Appaluccio of New Braunfels,TX and Carla Leary and husband Michael of Middletown,NY; four grandchildren: Nicole and Tracy Irving of Plainfield, IL, Jessica Appaluccio of FL, Lauren Coman of Middletown,NY and Liam Leary of Middletown,NY; two brothers: Louie and wife Adel Mastrangelo of Lodi, NJ, and Joseph and wife Maryellen Mastrangelo of Haskell, NJ; one sister: Annemarie Gallitelli of Milton, DE; three nephews and one niece. He is predeceased by his brother Luigi and his nephew Daniel Gallitelli. The Memorial Mass is 12 pm Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield.
