Obituary for Giuseppa Giammanco (Orobello)

GIAMMANCO, Giuseppa (nee Orobello), age 81, of Garfield, died on April 15, 2014. Born and raised in Bolognetta, Sicily-Italy, she moved to Garfield in 1966. She was a homemaker, a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church, and a member of the Sacred Heart Society, San Pio Prayer Group, and the St. Anthony Society Women’s Auxiliary, all of Garfield. She is predeceased by her husband Ciro in 1996, a sister, Serafina Sermini, and two brothers, Gennaro and Giuseppe Orobello. She is survived by her children, Salvatore Giammanco, Frank Giammanco and wife Anne, Carmelo Giammanco and wife Giulia, Ciro Giammanco and wife Susan, and Maria Calderon and husband Tony, a sister, Felice Scimeca, and six grandchildren, Francesco, Alexandra, Breanna, Gianna, Brittany, and Daniel. The funeral is Saturday, April 19, 2014, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8:30 am followed by a 9:30 am Blessing at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook. Visiting Friday 4 to 9 pm. The Giammanco family is in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077).
