Mary Danys (Velebir)
DANYS, Mary (nee Velebir), age 94, of Garfield, died on April 17, 2014. Born in Hanusovce, Czechoslovakia, she lived there for 7 years, Mary D, PA for 7 years, settling into Garfield 80 years ago. She was a clerk and typist for NJ Bank in Passaic for 14 years, and Vornado Realty Trust in Garfield for 12 years before retiring in 1991, she was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Garfield, and a member of the Mary and Martha Ladies Aide. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph in 1991, and her brothers, Michael, John and Andrew Velebir. She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Annibal and husband Garry, a son, Joseph Michael Danys and wife Joan, two sisters, Anne Hall and Susan Ottagalli, six grandchildren, Amy and husband Paul, Matthew and wife Kelly, Lisa and husband Cliff, Catherine and husband Jason, Michele, and Thomas, and 10 great-grandchildren. The funeral is Tuesday, April 22, 2014, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 9 am followed by a 10 am service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Garfield. Interment Lodi Cemetery, Lodi. Visiting Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations for Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
