Obituary for Hugh Niles Talada
Hugh N. Talada, 86 years old, went home to the Lord on July 1, 2014 at the US Veterans Administration Hospital, Hospice Unit at Lyons, NJ.
Hugh was born at home in Dunellen, NJ on November 26, 1927, to the late Eric Talada and Mamie Rehric-Talada.
Hugh is survived by his beloved wife Marie Rifino-Talada. Also surviving are their children Scott Talada, his wife Kathryn, and Scott’s daughter Mollie; Sheldon Talada; Sue Talada and her husband Ray Sly; Lisa Selenko; and Tim Bedrose, his wife Barbara and their children Patrick, Allison, and Timothy, and Timothy’s son Mason. Hugh is also survived by his sister Effie Christianson and her husband Carl, his beloved cousin Bun Talada, his niece Jill Ewen, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Hugh was owner of Talada Excavating, Inc. for more than 50 years, and was an avid fisherman. He was a friend to all, and believed in ‘passing along’ good deeds, always making room for one more at his table. He loved God, and was a member of the North Branch Reformed Church, where he served faithfully for many years as an elder.
A memorial service will be held at North Branch Reformed Church, 203 Route 28, Bridgewater, NJ on Sunday, July 6, 2014. Visitation will be at 11:00 AM, memorial service at 11:30 am, followed by a luncheon in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Branch Reformed Church Mission Fund, 203 Route 28, Bridgewater, NJ 08807, or to the US Veterans Administration Hospital, Hospice Unit, 151 Knollcroft Road, Lyons, NJ 07939.
