GONZALEZ, Jose, age 64, of Garfield, died on July 27, 2014. Born in NY, NY he moved to Puerto Rico at 4 years old and was raised there. In 1998, Jose moved to Little Ferry and settled into Garfield 8 years ago. He was a beloved member of The Church at New York City located in the Bronx where he was actively involved with volunteering wherever it was needed. He also was a member and volunteer of NJ Buddies in Hackensack. He is survived by his father, Jose A. Gonzalez, a daughter, Jessica Marie Leatham, a brother, Antonio Gonzalez and wife Lisa, two sisters, Ileana Simpatico and husband Vincent and Wilma Gonzalez, and dear uncle of Telissa, Jennifer, Molly, and Abby. Jose was a loving care giver to his mother, Maria Teresa Dominicci, and to his friend, Jeanette Schultz. He is recently predeceased by his mother, Marie Teresa Dominicci. Visiting Wednesday 4 to 8 pm with a 7 pm funeral service. Interment Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, North Lauderdale, FL. The Gonzalez family is in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077). Condolences/Directions visit aloiafuneral.com
