Joseph G.  Colombo
COLOMBO, Joseph G., age 64, of Garfield, died on August 31, 2014. He was born and resided in Palermo, Sicily for 4 years before relocating to Paterson, NJ for 25 years, then Carlstadt for 25 years settling to Garfield 10 years ago. He was honorably discharged from the US Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal in 1969 after being awarded the Purple Heart. He was employed 20 years with Takasago Corporation as an electronic engineer. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Gladys (nee Ruiz), three daughters, Xiomara Spataro, Marlyn Tudhope, and Claudia Colombo, one son Joseph L. Colombo, and four sisters, Rosalie Riccobono, Josephine Cilluffo, Frances Colombo and Angela Radovcic. Also survived by 6 grandchildren. Visiting Wednesday 4 to 8 PM. The funeral will be Thursday arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8:30 am followed by a 9:30 am mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin RC Church, Garfield. Interment Holy Sepulchre, Totowa. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting memorial donations for the Disabled American Veterans.
