SCIMECA, Carmela (nee Sclafani), age 82, of Garfield, died on December 2, 2014. Born in Bolognetta, Sicily-Italy, she lived there for 38 years settling in Garfield 44 years ago. She was a seamstress for 20 years retiring in 1990 from RainCraft in Garfield, she was a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church, and a member of the St. Anthony Society, Garfield, the St. Ciro Society, Garfield, and the I. L.G.W.U. - Passaic Local. She is predeceased by her husband Arcangelo in 1997, and her son Joseph in 2001. She is survived by a daughter, Anna Cutrona and husband Charlie, a son, Vincent Scimeca and wife Maria, a daughter-in-law, Maria Cira Scimeca, and a brother, Salvatore Sclafani. Loving grandmother of Carmelina LaRosa and husband Anthony, Andrea Cutrona and wife Marcella, Robert Scimeca and wife Rosemarie, David Scimeca and wife Sara, Mark Scimeca, Gianna Scimeca, Alyssa Scimeca, and Gabriella Scimeca. Dear great-grandmother of Ciro and Rosanna Cutrona, Joseph Scimeca, and two more on the way. Visiting Thursday 5 to 9 pm. The funeral is Friday, December 5, 2014, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8 am followed by a 9 am mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield. Entombment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook.
