STEPIEN, Anthony, age 87, of Garfield, died on December 5, 2014. Born in Ksiezpol, Poland, he has resided in Garfield the past 56 years. He was a chemical operator for 28 years with Givaudan in Clifton retiring in 1992, and a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church in Garfield where he was an usher for many years. He was very involved in the Polish community where he volunteered with the Pulaski Day Committee that organized the parade, and was a member of the Polish National Alliance in Passaic, the Polish Peoples Home in Passaic, the Wisla Center in Garfield, and the the Czestochowa Pilgrimage Group. Anthony is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sophie (nee Rodzen), two daughters, Barbara Rigoglioso and husband Dr. Charles, Margaret Vernon and husband Daniel, a sister, Caroline Chmarney, and nine grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, Charles Jr., Luke, Alexandria, Jacob, Daniel, Joshua, and Julianna. The funeral is Saturday, December 13, 2014, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8 am followed by a 10 am mass at St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church, Garfield. Interment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. The Stepien family is in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077).
