Nicholas J. Riccio
RICCIO, Nicholas J., age 92,of Garfield, died on January 19, 2015. He was born in Paterson residing there for 24 years before moving to Garfield 68 years ago. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII , he was a parishioner of Most Holy Name RC Church, Garfield, past president of the Holy Name Seniors, and a life member of the Garfield VFW Post 2867. He worked as a loom mechanic for 48 years with Cosentino Co., in Paterson, retiring in 1984. Nicholas was a volunteer at the Garfield Nutrition/Senior Center for many years where he was a member of the AARP and Golden Agers. He is predeceased by his wife Antoinette and his son Michael, both in 2008, a brother, Dominick, and a sister, Mary Van Orden. He is survived by a son, Nicholas M. and his wife Deborah, a daughter, Judy Riccio, a daughter-in-law, Bernice Riccio, seven grandchildren, Ryan and wife Dana, David, Erin and husband Justin, Niki and fiancé Michael, Lissa and fiancé Bryan, Ginamarie, and Samantha, and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Madison. Visiting Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral is Friday, January 23, 2015, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8 am followed by a 9 am mass at Most Holy Name Church, Garfield.
