Agnes Benante (Hendricks)
BENANTE, Agnes E. (nee Hendricks), age 87, of Garfield, died on March 1, 2015. Born and raised in Paterson, she lived there for 21 years settling in Garfield 66 years ago. She was a seamstress for 20 years working at Supreme Pants in Garfield retiring in 1990, she was a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church where she was the past-president of the T.A.M.S. and member of the Rosary Society, and she was a member of the I.L.G.W.U. - Passaic Local. She is predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Martin R. Benante, Sr. in 2013, a sister, and four brothers. She is survived by three children, JoAnne Garofalo, Martin R. Benante, Jr. and wife Elaine, and Marion Gulli and husband Frank, seven grandchildren, Sam and wife Jennifer, Janis, Meaghan and husband Nathan, Jillian and husband Alan, Martin, Frank ,and Daniel, and seven great-grandchildren, Alexa, Kayla, Angelica, Ava, Myles, Preston, and Scarlett. Visiting Wednesday 4 to 8 pm. The funeral is Friday, March 6, 2015, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 10 am followed by a 11am mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield. Interment St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mt. Virgin Church and Hackensack Hospice.
