Obituary for Frank D. McClellan

Frank D. McClellan, age 80, of Browns Mills, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13, 2015 surrounded by his loved ones at his home. Born and raised in Greenville, S.C., he joined and served the U.S. Air Force in 1954, then pursued a civilian career in his military specialty, Radar Technology and Avionics at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. Many called him the 'Answer Man' and thought him a genius in his field of expertise. Frank was a longtime N.Y. Giants football fan and loved watching games with his family and friends. Nothing brought him more pleasure than getting together with his children and grandchildren during family gatherings. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Harriet; his sons, Steven McClellan (Laure) and Paul McClellan (Rita), both of Cherry Hill, N.J.; his daughter, Karen Matlack (Todd) of Doylestown, Pa.; his step-sons, Lou Popp of Southampton, N.J., Brian Popp (Ann) of Browns Mills, N.J., and Steven Hendrickson (Pam) of Medford, N.J.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was the brother of Joanne Williams (Carol) of Rock Hill, S.C., Howard McClellan (Shirley) of Greenville, S.C. and Ruth McClellan of Easley, S.C.
Interment and honor guard services were held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, N.J. In lieu of flowers, his family requests contributions to be made in Frank's name to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Avenue, Garfield, NJ.
