LINDIE, James Henry, age 89, of Lodi, died on June 5, 2015. Born in Berbice River, Guyana, he moved to the United States 22 years ago living in Elmwood Park, Garfield, and Haledon before moving to Lodi 2 years ago. In Guyana, he as a captain of a ship working for the Bermine Mining Company. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Julia C. (nee LaRose), 10 children, Waveney Lindie, Olga Clarke, Mary Lindie, Ingrid DaCosta and husband Daniel, Donna Lindie, Grace Fung and husband Patrick, Viola Lindie, Berth Lindie and wife Anita, Judy Thomas and husband Ian, and Gary Lindie and wife Charlene, and a sister, Mavis VanLewin. Dear grandfather of 22 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his sister, Olga Jankie-Chan. The visiting will be held on Friday 5 to 7 pm at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Paterson, followed by a 7 pm service. The funeral is Saturday, June 13, 2015, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 10 am followed by a 11 am graveside service at Lodi Cemetery, Lodi.
