CAVALLO, Daniel A., age 84, of Garfield, died on July 12, 2015. Born and raised in Passaic, he settled in Garfield 47 years ago. He was a Marine Veteran serving during the Korean War, and a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Passaic. He was a salesman for 0ver 30 years with Ashland Chemical in Hackensack retiring in 1996, and previously a salesman for Okonite Cable Co. in Passaic. Also, he owned the Brass Pony on Jewell Street, Garfield for 5 years, and a bagel store in Elmwood Park for a few years. Daniel was a talented artist, and an amazing cook. He is survived by his sister, Loretta Carollo, and two nephews, Anthony Carollo and wife Frances, and Jeffrey Carollo and wife Sharon. Great uncle of Erik, Gina, Monica, Jaclyn, and Alexa. He is predeceased by his brother-in-law, Anthony Carollo, Sr. in 1985, and his parents, Daniel and Anna Cavallo. Visiting Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral is Thursday, July 16, 2015, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8:30 am followed by a 9:30 am mass at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, Passaic. Interment St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations for the John Theurer Cancer Center, Hackensack.
