John Russell Herkaler
HERKALER, John Russell, age 21, of Montague, passed on to the Lord, due to extensive injuries from a tragic car accident, on September 21, 2015, a day before his 22nd birthday. He attended grammar school at Sussex County Charter School, and graduated from Port Jervis High School in the auto mechanic program. He received all his sacraments from Our Lady of Mount Virgin RC Church and Our Lady of Sorrows RC Church in Garfield. He was employed by Ames Rubber Company in Hamburg. He is predeceased by a half brother, Michael J. Petriello, IV. , his grandfather, Raymond L. Wiemert, and his grandmother, Carolyn T. Solarino. Survived by his loving mother, Karelann M. Wiemert-Herkaler, two half sisters, Regina Wiemert and Melannie Carlsen, and half brother, Constantine John-Lewis Petriello (who adored him!). Also survived by his uncle, Lewis M. Wiemert and many friends who respected and remember John with admiration. The Memorial Mass will be 8 am on October 12, 2015, at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield. He was privately cremated.
