John  Swistak, Sr.
SWISTAK, John Sr., age 87, a lifelong resident of Garfield, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on November 17, 2015. He started his career as a bus driver for Pioneer Bus Company (Ayan Bus Co.) in Garfield, then worked on the assembly line for Ford Motor Company in Mahwah. He also was a driver for PNA Auto Parts in Saddle Brook, and finally, he was a driver for Bergen County Transportation in Hackensack for 6 years retiring in 1991. John was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church in Garfield where he was a devoted Usher. In addition, John was the financial secretary for St. John the Baptist Society # 803 PRCU of America in Passaic and he loved working out at the HUMC Fitness and Wellness Facility in Maywood. John was the beloved husband of his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Anna Marie (nee Karcz), devoted and loving father of John Jr. and wife Karen, Joseph and wife Cindy, and Anthony and wife Toni, dear twin brother of Frank Swistak, and cherished grandfather of Joelle Swistak, Malissa Swistak and fiancé Mark Lemanski, Dylan Swistak, and Bernie Yucker and fiancé Ivy Trout. Great grandfather to Reed, Paige, and Oliva. Visiting Friday 5 to 9 pm. The funeral is Saturday, November 21, 2015, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 10 am followed by a 11 am mass at St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church, Garfield. Interment St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Ascend Hopsice.
