AVELLA, Angela (nee DiSilvestri), age 92, of Garfield, died on January 27, 2016. Born in Marineo, Sicily-Italy, she lived there for 32 years emigrating to the United States in 1955 to Garfield and marrying Charles Avella in 1957. She was a seamstress most of her life working at various local dress shops in the Garfield and Lodi area. She is predeceased by her husband, Charles in 2005, her sisters, Concetta Fiduccia, Grazia DiMiceli, Filippa Fiduccia, and Carmela Cangialosi, and her brothers Filippo and Salvatore DiSilvestri. Loving mother of Frank J. Avella and husband Henry Van Kooy, and dear sister of Francesco “Ciccio” DiSilvestri and wife Carmela, and Maria Scro and husband Salvatore. Visiting Friday 6 to 9 pm. Funeral Saturday, January 30, 2016, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 10 am followed by an 11 am burial at Lodi Cemetery, Lodi. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting memorial gifts.
