Obituary for Verlyn "Lynn" Barbara Stein (Helfrich)
STEIN, Verlyn Barbara “Lynn” (nee Helfrich), age 82, of Blackwood, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2016.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 17th at 11:00 AM at Memorial Presbyterian Church in Wenonah, NJ with Rev. James Occhipinti officiating.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mabel and Norman Helfrich and sister Darlene Harper of Windsor, Ontario (Canada), and granddaughter Krista Savino of Kennewick, Washington. She is survived by her "five stars" - children Debra (Stein) Savino, Karen (Stein) and her husband Rocco DiVerdi, David and his wife Rebecca Stein, Nancy Stein, and Allan Jay Stein, fifteen grandchildren, eight nieces and nephews, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and her former husband, Morris Stein.
Lynn was born in Windsor, Ontario to Mabel and Norman Helfrich on March 27, 1934. After raising five children, Lynn determinedly returned to school and graduated Rutgers University in 1999. Lynn was a loving, devoted mom and a loyal friend to many. She will be remembered for her strong sense of determination, for her beautiful grace, kindness, and generosity, and for being her children's greatest cheerleader. In lieu of flowers, please join her children in sharing her spirit by paying it forward.
