Anthony V. Damato, Sr.
DAMATO, Anthony V., Sr., age 61, of Garfield, died on May 28, 2016. Tony was a lifelong resident of Garfield serving on the Garfield School Board for 15 years. He was a coach and director of the Garfield Junior Boilermakers for many years, was a former Captain of Garfield Fire Company 3 where he volunteered for more than 21 years, and was a member of the NJ State Exempt Firemen’s Association. He worked as manager of the BWO Professional Wrestling Organization and a truck driver for PAV Express Trucking and Warehousing in Clifton. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Karen, two daughters, Jennifer and Dana, one son, Anthony Jr., and two grandchildren, Vincent and Ethan. Visiting will be Wednesday 4 to 8 PM with a 7:45 PM chapel service at the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077). Private cremation.
