BOGUE, Stephen A. Sr, age 74, of River Edge, passed away on September 2, 2016 at Hackensack University Medical Center surrounded by family. Stephen worked for United Parcel Service - Local 177 in Saddle Brook for 35 years before retiring in 1995. He was an avid Yankee fan and loved all animals with birds being his favorite, collecting owls as a hobby. In the 1960’s, he was the drummer in a group he and his friends put together called “The Coachmen V” performing at all the well known nightclubs on Route 46 in Lodi (The Angel Lounge, Luciano’s, etc). He also performed throughout Lake George, NY in the summer months.
Beloved husband of Shirley (nee-Ziegler). He is survived by his children Stephen Jr. and wife Megan of Bergenfield, Douglas and wife Kathie of Emerson, Roy Merwede and wife Tracy of Ogdensburg, Gerald Merwede and wife Jessica of Midland Park, and Jay Merwede of River Edge, loving grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and dear brother of Suzanne Bogue of River Edge. Predeceased by his daughter Elissa. He will never be forgotten and he will be forever missed.
