Obituary for Hope VanderLaan (Marotta)
VANDERLAAN, Hope (nee Marotta), age 85, of Clifton, died on October 4, 2016. She was born and raised in Passaic all her life moving to Clifton 4 years ago, and she was a homemaker. She is predeceased by her husband, Donald in 1987, and three children, Donald VanderLaan, Jr., Marie Jackson, and Richard VanderLaan. Loving mother of Barbara Cervantes, Robert (Norma) VanderLaan, Tessie VanderLaan, Edward VanderLaan, John VanderLaan, and Martin (Theresa) VanderLaan, dear sister of William (Janice) Marotta, John (Kathleen) Marotta, Tessie Rankin, and Rita Dedreu, and cherished grandmother of 26 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. Visiting Thursday 7 to 9 pm with an 8:30 pm chapel service. Private Cremation. The VanderLaan family is in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077).
