STEINER, John J., age 74, of Lakehurst, passed away at Community Medical Center of natural causes with his daughter Jo and her husband Scott by his side on February 8, 2017. Jack served in the Army and later went on to become a life member of The Lakehurst Fire Department. He was employed by the State of NJ as a corrections officer for over 33 years. Daddy enjoyed hunting, fishing, woods riding and spending time at the cabin listening to country music with Carl and his k-9 companion Angel. His ex-wife Linda took care of him to the end. Jackie was predeceased by his father John, mother Ruth, sister Patricia and brother Gary. He is survived by his brothers and sisters Sandra, Kenneth, Elaine, Susan and Warren. His daughter Jo and her husband Scott, grandchildren Shaun and his fiancé Erica, Michael, John, Chelsea and Ryan, great-granddaughters Olivia and Ella and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be March 4, 2017, 2 to 5 pm with services at 3 pm at the Lakehurst Community Center, 207 Center Street, Lakehurst. All are welcomed for snacks and sharing stories.
