Benedetta "Bina"  Cosentino (Amato)
COSENTINO, Benedetta "Bina" (Amato), age 84, of Lodi, died on May 7, 2017. Born in Palermo, Italy, she lived there for 23 years emigrating to the United States in 1956. She then moved to Garfield for 12 years settling in Lodi 49 years ago. Bina was a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church in Garfield, and a former member of the Italian-American Women's Forum of Lodi. She was a seamstress 14 years with Raincraft Company, and then owned and operated Rosemarie's High Fashion in Passaic from 1970-1979. She was also a custom interior designer and made custom drapery for her clients. Bina is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Giuseppe in 2010, her grandson, Angel Safarian, her sister, Tonia Scro, and her brothers, Franco, Jack, and Rich Amato. Loving mother of Biagio "Bill" Cosentino and wife Karen, Connie Palasti and husband Steven, and Rosemarie Safarian and husband Jack, cherished grandmother of Joe, Joseph, Billy, Danielle, Kristin, Blaze-Joseph, and Jagger-Jax, and 7 great-grandchildren. Visiting Wednesday 4 to 8 pm. The funeral is Thursday, May 11, 2017, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 10 am followed by a 11 am mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield.
