Maria Maddalena  Vitamia (Collorafici)
VITAMIA, Maria Maddalena (nee Collorafici), age 82, passed peacefully on June 28, 2017. Born in Palermo, Sicily-Italy, she lived there for 33 years before emigrating to the United States in 1967 with her three small children to reunite with her husband, Antonino. Maria first started the legacy of Vitamia Pasta Boy in Lodi, and was owner and partner for 50 years with her husband. Her and her family resided behind the store for 14 years before settling in Saddle Brook 33 years ago. Besides her love of cooking and family, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and reading. She is survived by Antonino, her loving husband whom she shared 70 years with. Also, by her three children, Francesco Paolo "Paul", Giuseppe "Joseph", and Maria Carmela "Mela". Her memory will thrive through her six grandchildren, Antonino, Maria Maddalena, Giuseppe, Giovanna, Madelyn, Gabriella, and her two great-grandchildren, Lorenzo and Liliana. She is predeceased by her sister, Elvira La Barbera. Visiting Sunday 2 to 6 pm. The funeral is Monday, July 3, 2017, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 9 am followed by a 10 am mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield. Entombment St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association. The Vitamia family is in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077).
