CAMPISTROUS, James "Nine", age 85, of Clifton, died on July 20, 2017. Born in Lannemezan, France, he was raised in New York, NY living in Garfield 50 years settling in Clifton six years ago. He retired from Crest Foam Industries in Moonachie, was a firefighter and Lieutenant with the Garfield Volunteer Fire Department - Company 4, and a member of the New Jersey Exempt Firemen's Association. He served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1952 - 1954. Loving husband of 38 years to Charlotte (nee Haskoor), devoted father of Tara Campistrous and Paul Campistrous, and cherished grandfather of Alyssa Jablonski. He is predeceased by his parents, Paul and Noela Campistrous, and his brother, Gilbert Campistrous. His life celebration will 6 to 9 pm on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Garfield VFW Post 2867, 340 Outwater Lane, Garfield. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in James' name to the Garfield YMCA. The Campistrous family is in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077).
