DeMICHELE, Carlo “Sonny”, age 78, of Whiting, died on July 27, 2017. Born and raised in Garfield for 62 years, he lived in New York for 9 years settling in Whiting 7 years ago. He owned and operated Sonny’s Hot Dogs on Midland Avenue in Garfield for 25 years retiring in 2001, and previously, he co-owned John and Carlo Scrap Metal in Garfield for 20 years. Loving brother of Josephine Klomburg and husband Albert, devoted uncle of Joanne, Jayne, Alison, AnnaMarie, Glenn, John, Richard, Kathy, and Theresa, and a dear great-uncle of many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Anna and Joseph DeMichele, his siblings, John, Rosario, and Michael Curcio, Marie Russo, and his nephew, Frank Curcio. Visiting Sunday 2 to 6 pm. The funeral is Monday, July 31, 2017, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home 10 am followed by an 11 am chapel service. Interment St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi.
