Condolence: My Cousin Joe Joe's mother and my father were brother and sister. My father Nicholas left NJ and came to California in the late 40's early 50's where he met my mom and settled into California. My father died when I was a kid, so I never had any real connection to my Italian family heritage in NJ. My mother did her best to keep the connection going, and in the 80's I met Joe's sister, Pat, when she came out for a visit. I was fortunate enough to have a few phone conversations with Joe's mother Minnie before she passed away. After my mother died in 1991, I kept in touch with Cousin Joe, and in 2005, traveled to NJ and spent some time with him and his family. Joe was wonderful to me, showing me around Garfield, the house my father was born in, the church he was baptized in, the school he went to so very long ago. I went to the Police Station in Garfield and I was able to see the name "Perrapato" carved in stone as the former Police Chief many, many years ago. Joe even introduced me to some other relatives I never knew I had. Joe was a kind and sweet man. He and his friend Marlene came out to California a few years later and I was fortunate to have spent time with both of them. I will always cherish my Cousin Joe, the memories I have of him and the kindness he showed me by giving me a glimpse into my father's life and history that I never would have had without him. He will be truly missed. God bless him.

Condolence: I know your daughter, Jennifer for almost a year and I know she loves you so much that I want to take the time to share some words if I may. "God will take care of your father, Joseph R. Soccio, Sr. and may he rest in peace with many blessings. Jennifer, your father will always be by your side through the good times and the bad. Condolence: Joe, What can I say , I have know you for the better part of my early childhood to my adulthood now 53. I loved our conversations about politics, the Mets and all things of that pertained to Life. All of those diner table discussions and heated debates all good for the soul. I will never forget your face staring at me from across any diner table we as a group eat at that I am lucky to still participate in. I loved the Laughs and all of the frustrations we had with our Government and the Love you shared with all of us Especially for Marlene and My parents who valued their friendship with you beyond compare !!
