Anna Chan
Anna Chan, 89 of Passaic, passed away at home on August 28, 2017. Born in East Liverpool, Ohio, Anna has lived in Passaic for over 40 years. She was fiercely independent having lived her youth in Slovakia and surviving WWII there. She spent much of her adult life working in Passaic as well as serving as the Chan family matriarch and caring for her father Andrew Chan. Anna deeply loved her family and was a devoted and generous daughter, sister, godmother and aunt. She was predeceased by her bother John and her sisters Helen, Mary and Anastasia. She is survived by her sisters Susan Pitulej, Christina Grand, sister-in-law Pauline, brother-in-law Walter Pitulej and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave, Garfield on Friday, September 1 from 4-7 PM, with a Parastas at 5:30 pm. Funeral mass will be held at Ss Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Cathedral, 200 3rd St., Passaic on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Interment Ss Peter & Paul Cemetery, Saddle Brook.
