SCALERA, Cira S. “Shirley” (nee De Rosa), age 86, a lifelong resident of Garfield, died on October 21, 2017. She was a nursery aide for 20 years retiring in 2006 from the Elmwood Park Athletic Club, Elmwood Park. Shirley is predeceased by her husband, Anthony in 1984, her daughter, Patricia Longarzo in January of 2017, and her siblings, James, Louis, Thomas, and Niel De Rosa, Marian Tortarici, Angie Simone, and Ann Simone. Loving mother of Anthony Scalera and wife Perlamar, and Glenn Scalera and wife Adrianne, cherished grandmother of Robert Scalera and wife Tiffany, Anthony Scalera, Jr., Kelly Longarzo, and Anthony Longarzo and wife Indira, and adored great-grandmother of Sienna Longarzo. Visiting Monday 5 to 9 pm. The funeral is Tuesday, October 24, 2017, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 10 am followed by an 11 am mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield.
