Obituary for William F. Yuppa

YUPPA, William F., age 96, of Lodi, died on November 10, 2017. Born and raised in Clifton for 26 years, he settled in Lodi 67 years ago. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and then he graduated from the University of Iowa with his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Bill worked as an electrical engineer 32 years with ITT in Clifton retiring in 1983. Bill was active in his community, and enjoyed helping others. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s RC Church where he was a feast volunteer for many years. He was also a very integral part of the Garfield UNICO where he was a member since 1986. He served as the 21st President from 1988 -1992, as the 30th District Governor of NJ District 7 from 1994-1995, he started the Scholarship Committee, was the 6th Grade Award Dinner Chairperson, and currently the Garfield Chapter Liaison to the District, a member of the Membership & Retention Committee and the Christopher Columbus Italian Heritage Committee. Bill also loved being an active member of the Garfield AARP # 2470, where he was Past President, and currently the Membership Chairman, the Legislative Chairman, and the Nominating Committee Chairman. In addition, Bill was a member of the Lodi AARP and the Lodi Senior Citizens. He is predeceased by his wife, Concetta “Connie” in 1995, his daughter, Carol Yuppa in 1974, and his siblings, Peter Yuppa, Josephine Marabeti, Antoinette SanFilippo, and Sam Yuppa. Loving father of James W. Yuppa and wife Joyce, and JoAnn Kistner and husband Robert, cherished grandfather of Jaclyn Yuppa, Gary Kistner and wife Marney, Jamie Stellato and husband Jeffrey, Ashley Kistner and fiancé Ryan Greenan, Jordan Yuppa, and great-grandfather to Caden Kistner. A life well lived, a patriarch of our family is already leaving a large void in our lives. His true passion was being with his family, and he always loved spending time with all of them. He had a dear and kind heart and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Visiting Tuesday 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm. The funeral is Wednesday, November 15, 2017, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8:30 am followed by a 9:30 am mass at St. Joseph’s RC Church. Lodi. Entombment Calvary Cemetery, Paterson.
