Obituary for Irwin "Butch" Stolz

STOLZ, Irwin “Butch”, age 70, a lifelong resident of Lodi, died on November 16, 2017. Butch was a lab technician 28 years for Hoffman LaRoche in Nutley, and then became the sales manager for Nordstrom in Paramus for 15 years retiring in 2010. He also worked part-time as a bartender at Charlie Blood’s in Garfield. Butch was very active in his church and community. He was a parishioner of Mt. Virgin Church in Garfield where he was a member of the Usher Society, and was a firefighter with the Lodi Volunteer Fire Department with Fire Company 1 and Kennedy Fire House Hose Company 2. He was elected in 1990 to the Lodi Board of Education serving as a Trustee form 1990-1995, Vice-President 1992-1993 and President from 1994-1995. In addition, he was past-president of the Lodi Old Timers Association, commissioner of the Lodi Baseball Minor League in 1986, past chairman of the Lodi Little League, past member of the Lodi Planning Board, was a member of the Lodi Moose Lodge, Advisory Board of the Lodi Boys and Girls Club, member of the NJ Exempt Firemen’s Association, and was a member of the Volunteer Fire Bridgade at Hoffman LaRoche. He is predeceased by his parents, Irwin H. and Amelia Stolz. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Geri (nee Scalera), a son, Jimmy and wife Silvana, a daughter, JacLynn Mulé and husband Carlo, and four grandchildren, Isabella, Ava, Nicholas, and Christopher. Visiting Sunday 4 to 8 pm. The funeral is Monday, November 20, 2017, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8:30 am followed by a 10 am mass at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, Garfield.
