Louis G. Aloia is the son of Louis A. and Annette "Peachie" Aloia, founders of the Aloia Funeral Home, and a lifelong resident of Garfield. He attended Don Bosco High School, St. Peters College, and McAllister Mortuary School and received his license in 1977. He is married to the former Rosemarie D'Angelo, and they are the parents of six children, Brendan, Maria, Paola, Madalyn, Andrea, and Adrienne, and grandfather of six. He is former Mayor of Garfield, and a current fifth term Councilman of Garfield, a member of Garfield Volunteer Fire Company 3, an Honorary Life Member of the Garfield VFW Post 2867, a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, Past President of Garfield UNICO, Past President of the Holy Name Society and Past President of the Finance Committee of Our Lady of Mount Virgin R.C. Church, Past board member of the Garfield Chamber of Commerce, Past Commissioner of the Garfield Housing Authority, Past Member of the Garfield Redevelopment Agency, Past Vice President of the Garfield Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and is involved in many other community functions.

Rosemarie A. Aloia is a native of Paterson and has been a resident of Garfield since 1989. She is a graduate of Syracuse University, Columbia University, and Mercer County Community College with her funeral degree in 1986. She is married to Louis G. Aloia, and they are the parents of six children, Brendan, Maria, Paola, Madalyn, Andrea, and Adrienne, and grandmother of six. She served three terms as a Garfield School Board Trustee, is a past Garfield Redevelopment Agency Member, and was the Past President and founder of the Garfield Chamber of Commerce for 10 years. She is an accomplished musician, recently retiring as organist from Our Lady of Mount Virgin R.C. Church after 20 years and was the Director of the Garfield Champions Senior Chorus. She is currently a member of the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart Choir in Newark. She is Past President of the Garfield Ladies of UNICO, Past President of the Italian-American Women's Forum of Lodi, Past Vice-President of the Garfield Women's Club, Past Presided of the Garfield AARP Chapter 2470 for 10 years, and former Choir Director of the St. Therese Children's Choir, Garfield.
