ODDO, John M., age 87, of Garfield, died on June 20, 2014. Born in NY, NY he lived there for 2 years, Lodi for 29 years, and Garfield the past 56 years. He was a WWII Marine Veteran, a member of the Marine Corps League - Lakeland Detachment # 744, VFW Post 2867, and the Catholic War Veterans, both of Garfield. He worked as a chemist for Kirker Chemical, Paterson before retiring, he was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Garfield, and formerly a Scout Master with Troop 25, trainer with the Garfield Jr. Boilermakers, and the Camp Garfield Recreation Director. He is predeceased by a son, John A. in 2007. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lenore (Dolce), two sons, Anthony and wife Dorothy, Robert and wife Tara, a brother, Joseph and wife Angela, and four grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas, David, and Emily. Visiting hours Sunday 2-6 pm. The funeral is Monday, June 23, 2014, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 10 am followed by a 11 am mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Garfield. Private Cremation. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting donations for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Greater NJ Chapter.
