It is with great sadness that the family of Yossf Issa Gergeos announces his passing on June 17, 2018 at the age of 59. Yossf was born in 1959 in Qamishli, Syria. He married his sweetheart, Nada Bitar, on September 13, 1980. Yossf and Nada wanted a better life for their family, so they packed a couple suitcases and moved to the United States in 1990. Yossf was an extremely hard-working man, he opened his own contracting company, “Joe’s Remodeling”, in 2005. Everything Yossf achieved was for the betterment of his family. He was a devout man and was a parishioner at St. Mark’s Syriac Orthodox Cathedral in Paramus, NJ. Yossf is survived by his wife of 37 years, Nada; his daughter, Nariman and her husband Iyad Bitar; his sons, John and Jebran; his brother Abd-el-Massih; his sisters, Saide Khayzan, Evelyn Gergeos, and Naima Meskitly; and two granddaughters, Tia and Gianna Bitar. He is predeceased by his parents, Issa and Mary Gergeos and three brothers, Jebran, George, and Naeem Gergeos. Viewing and funeral services will be held at St. Mark’s Syriac Orthodox Cathedral in Paramus NJ. Viewing hours are Wednesday, June 20, 2018, from 7-9 pm and funeral mass will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 10am by Very Reverend Father Joseph Chamoun.
