MACALUSO, Leonard T., age 95, of Clifton, died on October 23, 2018. Born and raised in Garfield, he settled in Clifton 57 years ago. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII, and after the war, became a Blue Seal Boiler Operator. He owned and operated Home Liquors in Passaic and Atlas Fuel Oil in Clifton, and worked as a Blue Seal Boiler Operator for Sea Land Chemical in Elizabeth, and UOP Chemical in East Rutherford. He then was employed by Montclair State University in the HVAC Department for 20 years retiring in 1985. Leonard was a member of the Garfield High School 1939 National Championship Football Team who played Miami on Christmas Day and won 16 to 13, was a parishioner of St. Clare RC Church, Clifton, and a volunteer at the Garfield Senior Center. He is predeceased by his wife, Anne in 1994, a son, Leonard T. Macaluso, Jr. in 2003, and a brother, Thomas. He is survived by two children, John P. and wife Fran, and Julianna Bursten and husband Larry, three grandchildren, John, Bonnie, and Aaron, and a brother, Peter Macaluso and wife Marianne. Visiting Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral is Saturday, October 27, 2018, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 7:30 am followed by a 8:30 am mass at St. Clare RC Church, Clifton.
