DeBELLI, Donald M., age 65, of Phillipsburg, died on October 20, 2018. Born in Queens, he lived in Lodi 15 years. He was honored in 1969 by the Lodi Boys Club as “Boy of the Year”. After graduating Lodi High school in 1970, he moved to Florida where he attended Clown College and started his career as a clown for the next 10 years with Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus. He switched career paths going in to law enforcement serving as a police officer and detective 10 years with the Greenville Police Department, Greenville, SC. He also was a self-employed private detective before moving to Phillipsburg, NJ where he spent the last 30 years of his life , and was a dedicated and loyal booster to the Phillipsburg Football and Wrestling teams. He is predeceased by his parents, Arrigo and Jean DeBelli, and his siblings, Gerald DeBelli and Heather Torre. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Pamela Jean (nee Branch), a daughter, Jennifer Burd and husband Todd, a step-daughter, Dr. Shannon Theobald, a sister, Donna Locascio and husband Michael, three grandchildren, Tanner, Tristen , and Tyler . He as also an uncle to Michael Locascio, Jr. (Alyssa), Laura Haddad (Lou), Richard Torre (Amy), Ronald Torre (Veronica) and children, and Michael Torre, and great-uncle to Griffin, Ashley, Louis, Jr., and Richard, Jr. All services were privately held by the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077).
