LANO, Salvatore J. "Sammy", age 76, a lifelong resident of Garfield, died on November 25, 2018. He was the plant manager of Norpak Corporation in Newark from 1970-1985 and then owned and operated Joe’s Landscaping in Garfield from 1985-2012, and he was a member of the 20th Century Athletic Association in Garfield. Sal is survived by his loving wife of 23 years - together for 36 years, Alfa (nee Rodriguez), five devoted children, Joseph Lano, Gina Belmonte and husband Nick, Suzanne Giardina and husband Joseph, Salvatore Lano, Jr. and wife Inez, and Ivette Baeza and husband Rony, six cherished grandchildren, Joseph, Salvatore, Alexa, Matthew, Brenden, and Katherine, and two dear siblings, Tom Lano and wife Jane, and Camille Supplee and husband Richard. Visiting Thursday 3 to 7 pm. The funeral is Friday, November 30, 2018, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 10 am followed by a 11 am chapel service. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook.
