I first met Lance (and family) back in 2012 when they opened their home and hearts to me and my daughter - complete strangers who had never met before. Lance took us around NY - and boy, did we walk! A lot. And fast. He was a graceful greyhound to my short, daschund legs! On my return, we walked and walked again - and talked. He was a great conversationalist. And a great eater! I ate my way around Bayonne and NY with him. Nothing was too much for him - even getting up at 4 am so we could take some awesome pictures of the Manhattan skyline at dawn. It was such a sweet surprise for me to find a new friend in Lance and Adele and Haley (and Josh), and my heart is breaking with his loss - yet filled with so many good memories of my time with him.

I have so many memories of Lance...his New York City navigation method ('I think it's one more block!'), his love of food, his love for Mac, and most importantly, his love for his family. There was never a prouder father than Lance at Haley's Sweet Sixteen. A truly kind, very intelligent man. I will miss Lance and the conversations and laughter we shared. Adele, Josh, Haley, Blanche, my love is with you, as it is for the rest of Lance's family and friends-who-are-family.
