BELLOMO, Orfeo, age 86, of West Caldwell, died on January 22, 2020. Born in Gizzeria, Italy, he lived there for 14 years moving to New Jersey in 1947. He was the beloved son of Esterina Rosato Bellomo & Giovanni Battista Bellomo. Orfeo served in the US Army Reserves as a medic from 1958-1964, and he enjoyed his years studying abroad in Rome Italy, as well as in California at Berkeley and graduating from Rutgers with a major in History. He went on to become a high school teacher at Barringer High School in Newark, NJ. Orfeo cherished his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. He had a passion for learning, listening to the opera, reading, writing poetry, politics, science and loved watching the horse races on the weekends at the Meadowlands. He was a loving & devoted father and grandfather. His memory will always be treasured in the hearts of his family and friends. He is survived by three children, John P. Bellomo & wife Michele, Robert P. Bellomo & wife Kathleen Lynch, and Lisa M. Rewick & husband Patrick, four grandchildren, Isabella Bellomo, Gianluca Bellomo, Alessandra Bellomo, and Valentina Bellomo.
