Obituary

SALERNO, Carmela (nee Leto), age 82, of Lodi, died on February 6, 2020. Born and raised in Bolognetta, Sicily-Italy for 20 years, she settled in Lodi 62 years ago. Carmela was seamstress many years before retiring, and a parishioner of St. Joseph’s RC Church in Lodi. She is predeceased by her son, Joseph in 1987, and two sisters, Providence Wilk and Tina Maglionico. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Salvatore, three children, Nancy Salerno (John Zebrowski), Peter Salerno (Ellen) and Mary Gorga (Ralph), four siblings, Bill Leto (Kim), Louie Leto (Michelle), Sal Leto, and Fran Flores (Bill), and four cherished grandchildren, Rosalie Maggiore-Scarpulla (Riccardo), Kevin Salerno, Ashley Gorga, and Jaclyn Salerno. Visiting Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral is Tuesday, February 11, 2020, arriving at the Aloia Funeral Home at 8 am followed by a 9 am mass at St. Joseph’s RC Church, Lodi. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook. The Salerno family is accepting mass cards, monetary donations, or flowers in memory of Carmela.
