SALERNO, Salvatore, age 93, of Lodi, died on April 2, 2020. Born and raised in Bolognetta, Sicily-Italy for 31 years, he settled in Lodi 62 years ago. Salvatore was a sterilizer operator 35 years for Yoo-Hoo Beverage Company in Carlstadt retiring in 1997, and a parishioner of St. Joseph’s RC Church in Lodi. He is predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Carmela (nee Leto) on February 6, 2020, his son, Joseph in 1987, and brothers, Rosolino, Nino, and Pino Salerno. He is survived by three children, Nancy Salerno (John Zebrowski), Peter Salerno (Ellen) and Mary Gorga (Ralph), a sister, Maria Benanti, and four cherished grandchildren, Rosalie Maggiore-Scarpulla (Riccardo), Kevin Salerno, Ashley Gorga, and Jaclyn Salerno. All services were privately held with his interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook. In lieu of flowers the family is accepting monetary gifts or mass cards.
