Obituary for Anita Lo Faso (Bronko)

LoFASO, Anita, age 84, of Garfield, died on April 4, 2020. Born in Passaic, she lived briefly in Clifton settling in Garfield many years ago. Anita devoted her entire life to nursing beginning her career as a student at Englewood Hospital School of Nursing earning a three year degree in 1956. She continued her education receiving a Bachelors of Nursing in 1965 and her Masters of Education in 1971, both from Seton Hall University. Anita was an ER Nurse at Passaic General Hospital for eight years, then an instructor at the Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing for eight years. Anita spent the last 26 years of her career as a school nurse working for the Garfield Board of Education at School 6 taking care of all of her "kids" retiring in 1999. Additionally, she was a member of the Child Study Team for 12 years for the Garfield Board of Education, a member of the NJEA and Garfield Education Association holding the offices of Vice President and Treasurer, and she was a member of the Bergen County School of Nurses Association. Anita is predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Rosario “Hoppy” who died one day before her on April 3, 2020. Their commitment to each other was beautiful to witness, and knowing they are together in Heaven makes this easier to accept. They both will be deeply missed. All services were privately held by the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077). Condolences visit aloiafuneral.com
