BENANTI, Mary (nee Babbilonia), age 98, of Wayne, died on April 9, 2020. Born and raised in Garfield, she lived in Lodi moving to Wayne 8 years ago. She was a homemaker, and a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Virgin RC Church where she was a member of the Rosary Society. Mary was very active in her community belonging to the Garfield Ladies UNICO, the 20th Century Ladies Auxiliary in Garfield, the Wayne Seniors, and the Riverside Club of Paterson/Hawthorne. She is predeceased by her husband, Anthony in 1964, a son-in-law, John DelVecchio in 1997, and her siblings, Kate Guinta, Paul Babbilonia, Laura Riotto, Tess Fiore and Lee D’ambruzzi. She is survived by three loving children, Rosemarie Del Vecchio, Sal Benanti and wife Linda, and Anthony Benanti and wife Doris, six grandchildren, Denise and husband Ed Rivera, Michael Del Vecchio and wife Lisa, Laura Benanti and husband Patrick Brown, Marielle and husband Eric Dmbnowski, Michele and Nick Benanti, and ten great-grandchildren. All services were privately held with a Memorial Service planned for a future date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Mary’s name.
