Obituary for Victor Edward Weglowski

WEGLOWSKI, Victor Edward, age 95, peacefully passed away at home on April 14, 2020. He was a lifelong resident of Garfield.

Victor was a sergeant in the Army during WWII, serving in the 36th Division, 141st Infantry, in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany and was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Victor worked for over 40 years at Singer-Kearfott as a machinist making prototypes of advanced navigational units. Victor loved working in his garden, was a master woodworker building many items for family and friends. Victor had fond memories of family vacations to California especially the Napa Valley region. He was also a loyal fan of the NY Yankees, Giants, and Rangers.

Victor was the son of John and Aniela Weglowski. He is predeceased by his loving wife Irene in 2014 after 64 years of marriage. Victor is survived by his devoted son Victor Alan and wife Gail, devoted daughter Sue, granddaughter Dr. Jennifer Weglowski and her husband Viktor Bana, and great granddaughter Erika.
A memorial service is planned at a later date due to the current health crisis. In lieu of flowers the family requests that any donation in Victor’s memory be made to Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Condolences visit aloiafuneral.com
