BURKERT, Erwin, age 87, of Lodi, died on April 8, 2020. Born in Essen, Germany he emigrated to the United States settling in Lodi many years ago. Erwin served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954 decorated with the Korean Service Medal with 1 Bronze Star, President Unit Citation, the United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was a broadcast technician with CBS Television in NY, NY before retiring. All Services were privately held by the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Avenue, Garfield, NJ (973-340-7077) with his burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook. Condolences visit

I am very sorry to hear of my friend Erwin's death. He was a dedicated usher for many years; he was always ready to volunteer his time for our church. I am certain he is sitting at a place of honor at OurLord's Banquet in Heaven. Please accept my sincere sympathy.
