Mary Jane Del Vecchio Von Hoene, 71, of Cranbury, NJ, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at the Hospital in Philadelphia following a brief illness. She was born in Garfield, NJ on August 20, 1948 to the late John and Marian (Vilardo) Del Vecchio. Mary’s early years were spent in Garfield where she attended Mount Virgin Grammar School and then the Immaculate Conception High School in Lodi, NJ. She received a degree in French from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI and following graduation taught French for two years in Lake Geneva, WI. Mary then moved back to Garfield where she worked in Paramus, NJ for Susan Ives Clothing as a regional supervisor. It was while here that she met the love of her life, Robert Von Hoene, whom she married on March 4, 1977 and spent 43 wonderful years, enjoying cross-country skiing and golfing in Vermont and delicious meals cooked by Mary. Mary worked for several years for Décor Enterprises in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ as an interior designer before joining FA Bonauto & Associates in Morristown, NJ in 1979 as an Insurance Administrator, retiring in 1999. She and Bob moved from Chatham, NJ to Cranbury, NJ in 2005 where she lived until her death. Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her Aunt Connie Vilardo and her Uncle Al Vilardo, her godparents, who continued to be a great influence in her life until their deaths in 1992 and 2004.Mary is survived by her loving husband, Bob, her sisters-in-law, Lenore Von Hoene, Lois Von Hoene, Lorraine West and Linda Von Hoene and many cousins on the Vilardo and Del Vecchio sides.
