Obituary for Victor J. Dai

DAI, Victor J. “Tyke”, age 57, a lifelong resident of Garfield, died on August 6, 2020. He was a chef all of his life working at various restaurants throughout the years, and he was a former member of the Italian American Forum, Lodi. He is predeceased by his wife, Karen Ann Hall-Dai in 2018, and parents, Victor and Mary Dai. He is survived by three sisters, Cheri Dai-Agresta, Jo-Ann Mellor and husband Mykel, and Jodi Hofherr and husband Matthew, his former wife, Doreen Dai, two step-children, Daniella Pogorzelec and husband Wesley and Jesse Hall, and a granddaughter, Karmen Rosa. He was also the beloved uncle of Nicole Agresta and husband Yves Jean Baptiste, Richard Gademan, Gillian Gademan, and Matteo Hofherr, great-uncle of Yves and Jayde Jean Baptiste, beloved nephew of Patricia Morgan, Janet Dai-Naudts, Rachel Luterzo and Edward Luterzo, Godson of Joseph and the late Patricia Luterzo, and cousin and friend of many. Memorial Visiting Tuesday 7 to 9 pm with a 8:30 pm chapel service. The Dai family is in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., Garfield (973-340-7077).
