BAROFSKI, Norman E. “Pop”, age 87, of East Brunswick, died on October 1, 2020 at home surrounded by family. Norman was born on May 30, 1933 in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania to Stanley and Helen Barofski. The family moved to Michigan in 1948 and he settled to New Jersey in 1966. Norman served his country in the US Army as a Unit Supply Specialist and worked for many years in the automotive industry. He retired from the Engineering Department of the Hyatt Regency, New Brunswick. Norman was predeceased by his daughter, Valerie, and his grandson, Christopher. Norman was a dedicated, life-long fan of the Detroit Lions football team, enjoyed razzing on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights football team, and loved Atlantic City. He was a kind and gentle man with a wry and snarky sense of humor that made him immediately and eternally likable. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty (nee Virgilio), his daughters, Vicki and Denise, his son Norman, II, his sons-in-law, Michael, Terry and Dan, and his grandsons, Richard, Matthew and Terry, Jr. Honoring his wishes, services will be a simple, private, immediate family-only, gathering. The Barofski family is in the care of the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Avenue, Garfield, NJ (973-340-7077). Condolences visit aloiafuneral.com
