Obituary for Irving Elliott

Irving Elliott, 97, of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey passed away on February 23, 2021 of natural causes. Beloved husband of Willene for 46 years; devoted father of Gary, Phyllis, Susan, Jeffery (Annie), Laura (Jesse) and Ellen (Fred), dear brother of Philip (deceased); cherished grandfather of Jeaniene, Allison (Nate), Pam (Frank), Cheyenne, Samantha (Josh), Christopher, Daniel (Sarah), Amy (David), Adam, Jamie, Elizabeth, Brielle; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Irv was born in Philadelphia, PA to Herman and Pauline Elitsky on November 5, 1923. Irv’s parents died before his high school years ended and he and his brother learned skills, which helped shape their future.

Irv enlisted in the Navy during WWII and served in the Pacific Theater as a gunner in a Naval recon plane.

Irv’s sales prowess took him from taxi driver, milkman, appliance salesman, to executive leadership in an import/export company, where he retired.

Irv played tennis into his 90’s and returned to work selling flooring and carpeting – a job he loved.

Services will be held at a future date.

Irv was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Moorestown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Veterans Association; the First United Methodist Church of Moorestown or a charity of your choice.
