ELSTON, Charles Henry, age 88, of Garfield, died peacefully on November 16, 2021. Born in Fiarview, he lived in Hackensack 57 years and Englewood 27 years settling in Garfield 4 years ago. He was a union carpenter all of his life working for the County of Bergen in Hackensack as a handyman the past 10 years retiring in 2003, and he was a life member of the Northeast Carpenters Union - Local 15 in Passaic. In addition, he was a former member of the Hackensack Yacht Club. Charles is predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Margaret (nee Blumenberg) in 1996, and two sons, Charles Henry Elston, Jr. In 1969 and Jeffery Stuart Elston in 1988. Charles is survived by his devoted daughter, Christine M. Griffin and husband Kenneth and two grandchildren, Erin and Kenneth Griffin.
